Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. It is Dividend Wealth's (“we,” “us,” or “our”) policy to respect your privacy and comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding any personal information we may collect about you, including across our website, https://dividend-wealth.com, and other sites we own and operate.

This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we collect, how we use and protect that information, and your rights regarding your data. Because Dividend Wealth is a financial data platform, this policy covers both general personal information and financial data you provide or that may be accessed on your behalf.

In the event our site contains links to third-party sites and services, please be aware that those sites and services have their own privacy policies. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any of your activities after you leave our site.

This policy is effective as of May 13, 2024. Last updated: March 15, 2026.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories:

Identifiers and Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Name and email address (provided by you at registration)
  • Hashed password (we do not store your password in readable form)
  • Account creation date and subscription status

Billing and Subscription Data

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment information (such as credit card details) is collected and processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full payment card information on our servers. We retain subscription status, plan type, and billing history.

User-Provided Financial Data (Manually Entered Portfolios)

You may choose to enter portfolio data into the platform, including ticker symbols, share quantities, cost basis, purchase dates, and other holdings information. This data is voluntarily provided by you and is not obtained from any third-party financial institution. We store this data solely to provide you with portfolio tracking, dividend analysis, income projections, and performance features.

Brokerage-Connected Financial Data (When Available)

We may in the future offer the ability to connect your brokerage account to automatically import portfolio data. This feature would be facilitated by Plaid Inc., a third-party financial data service provider. If and when this feature becomes available, data accessed may include account balances, holdings, and transaction history. We will not store your brokerage login credentials — authentication will be handled entirely by Plaid. Plaid's own data practices are governed by their End User Privacy Policy.

Device and Network Activity

When you visit our website, our servers may automatically log standard data provided by your web browser, including your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, time spent on each page, referring URLs, and other diagnostic data.

Support Communications

If you contact us for support, we collect the content of your communications (including email address and message content) to respond to and resolve your request.

Cookies

We use cookies to collect information about you and your activity across our site. Please refer to our Cookie Policy for more information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide portfolio tracking, dividend analysis, income projections, and performance features
  • Display your holdings, dividend calendar, and portfolio metrics
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send transactional emails such as account confirmations, password resets, and subscription updates
  • Improve the platform based on aggregated and de-identified usage patterns
  • Generate and display aggregated and de-identified insights derived from user data — such as most commonly held stocks, popular sectors, or trending dividend payers — on the platform or in marketing materials. This data is always presented in aggregate form and is never tied to individual users or accounts
  • Respond to your support requests and communications

3. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

We share personal information only with the third-party service providers listed in Section 5 below, and only as necessary to operate the platform and provide our services to you. We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Dividend Wealth, our users, or the public.

4. Data Access and Internal Controls

Private Portfolios (Default)

By default, all portfolios are private. Your portfolio data — including holdings, share quantities, and cost basis — is visible only to you through your authenticated account. No other users can view your portfolio data unless you explicitly choose to make it public.

Public Portfolios

You may choose to make a portfolio public. When you do so, the portfolio and its contents — including ticker symbols, share quantities, allocation percentages, and performance data — become viewable by any authenticated user (including free trial accounts) or anyone with a direct link to the portfolio. Public portfolios are clearly labeled as “Public” in the interface. Public portfolios are not indexed by search engines.

You may change a portfolio back to private at any time. Once set to private, the portfolio will no longer be accessible to other users. However, Dividend Wealth cannot control or retrieve any data that may have been viewed, copied, or recorded by other users while the portfolio was public.

You are solely responsible for deciding which portfolios to make public and for understanding that public portfolio data is visible to others. Dividend Wealth is not liable for any consequences arising from your decision to make portfolio data publicly accessible.

Administrative Access

Platform administrators have access to account-level information (such as name, email address, registration date, and subscription status) for the purposes of platform operations, customer support, and service management. Administrators may also access user portfolio data when necessary to troubleshoot a technical issue or respond to a support request initiated by the user.

Administrative access to modify portfolio metadata (such as categorization and demo flags) is restricted to authorized personnel and is used only for platform management purposes. We do not routinely browse, analyze, or share individual users' portfolio holdings outside of the support and operational contexts described above. All administrative access is authenticated and restricted to designated personnel.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party service providers to operate and improve the platform. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by contractual, legal, or operational obligations to protect it:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — Cloud hosting and data storage
  • Cloudflare — Security, DDoS protection, and content delivery
  • Mailchimp — Transactional and marketing email delivery
  • Stripe — Payment processing for subscriptions
  • Plaid — Brokerage account connections (when available)

We share only the minimum data necessary for each provider to perform its function. For example, Stripe receives billing information to process payments; Mailchimp receives your email address to deliver transactional messages.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards designed to protect your personal information and financial data. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher
  • Use of encrypted storage services provided by our cloud infrastructure
  • Database access restricted to application servers — no direct public access
  • Multi-factor authentication on infrastructure and administrative accounts
  • Regular security reviews and prompt application of vulnerability patches
  • Access to production systems following the principle of least privilege

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially reasonable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

For more detail on our security practices, please visit our Security page.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Specific retention periods:

  • Account and portfolio data: Retained for as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of a verified account deletion request.
  • Deleted portfolios: Soft-deleted with a 30-day recovery window, then permanently removed.
  • Billing records: Retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations, even after account deletion.
  • Server logs and device data: Retained for up to 90 days for diagnostic and security purposes.
  • Support communications: Retained for up to 1 year after resolution, or longer if required for legal compliance.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — View all your data through your account dashboard at any time
  • Correction — Edit your portfolio data and account information at any time
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Portability — Request an export of your data in a commonly used format
  • Disconnect — When brokerage connections are available, disconnect your financial institution at any time

How to Exercise Your Rights

To submit a request to access, correct, delete, or export your data, email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity by confirming your account email address before processing any request. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days. If we need additional time, we will notify you of the reason and the expected completion date.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act:

  • Right to Know — You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to Delete — You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Right to Correct — You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing — We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we do not sell or share personal information as defined under California law, there is no need to opt out, but you may contact us to confirm.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Information — To the extent we process sensitive personal information (such as financial data), we use it only for the purposes permitted under California law and only as necessary to provide the services you requested. Because our use is limited to these permitted purposes, no separate limitation request is required beyond what applicable law provides.
  • Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with the subject line “California Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days as required by law.

9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals. Because there is no industry-standard interpretation of DNT signals, we do not currently alter our data collection practices in response to DNT signals. If you use a browser or extension that transmits a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we will honor that signal to the extent applicable under law. However, Dividend Wealth does not currently engage in the sale or sharing of personal information as those terms are defined under California law, so no opt-out action is required on your part.

10. Children's Privacy

The platform is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected].

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will provide at least fourteen (14) days' notice by email or through a prominent notice on our website before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the platform after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
